My 12 Month Happenings

Now that I am the BIG NUMERO UNO, I'm...
*Running! Why walk? It only slows me down.
*Dancing my little legs off! I especially love dancing to musical cards.
*Not only crawling up the stairs, but also now working on backing down on my tummy!
*Brushing my first tooth! Okay. Maybe not brushing, but I do have one!
*Trying to force myself up onto anything I can...I've even been known to stack boxes just so I can stand on them and be an even bigger boy!
*Talking a ton! Mamma, Dadda, Papa, nana (banana and grandma...which my mom says she'll take),
up, dog, car, moon, ball, there, giggle (tickle tickle). I still answer when asked what a cow or ghost says...if you
catch me on a ggod day:)
*When asked to take a bath or get my diaper changed, I head to the stairs because upstairs is where
the poop gets changed and my body gets clean.
*Spinning in circles...don't ask...I don't know why I started doing it either...but it's fun!
*Bringing mommy and daddy books to read to me all the time. I love books!!!
*Cuddling with my doggy Hagen. He loves to give me the biggest and wettest kisses.
*I'm clapping all the time and learning to play patty cake
*Waving good-bye, whistling (too cute), pointing to my head, mom and dad's ears and nose...oh and
Belly buttons! I love to find belly buttons...just not my own.
*And as witnessed by grandma and because us grandma, I said and sometimes repeat the
word "Damn"

Helping Mom with my decorationsI thought it looked better this way!I actually got this thingamagig to work once or twice! Only the Birthday Boy got a cool hat to wear! This is the coolest present ever!OOOO...what's this?Oh my goodness. There's more!!!

My 8 Month Happenings!

Okay y'all. For some reason this blog thingy mommy has set up for me, isn't letting me edit and rearrange my work. So today we are going to do something different and start with some pics! Oh, and a quick shout out to my girl Peyton in N.C. We all hope your new baby sis gets here soon!
Patiently awaiting Peyton's baby sisters arrival
Okay...have the patience of an 8 month old. Time to play and wave at Daddy!

A few of my favorite things! Not the bars...just the stairs. Mommy says these are the only bars I had better EVER be behind!

My first play date with an older woman! Don't worry, it was supervised.

What you lookn' at punk? Yeah...that's a banged up eye. My first of many.

Love hanging out with Hagen in the yard while mommy waters her plants.

Hello people!

Swim lessons are a blast! Check out the elephant they let me play with.

Okay...now for my update....
Mommy reminded me today that it's been quite some time that I let all my lovely followers know what I've been up too...or getting into rather...hehehe. So I told mommy enough of her silly games and to go take a nap so that I could finally sit still and fill you all in on my 8 month happenings. You know I'm going to be 9 months on Wednesday! Can you believe it???

Over the past month I have learned to:

*Crawl on my hands and knees. I've been army crawling since 7 months and they've been trying to recruit me ever since!
*Pull myself up using any and all means necessary. I'm no longer laying or sitting in my crib awaiting mom and dad to come scoop me up. I'm standing at attention baby! Come to think of it, I don't like to sit much at all anymore...if I'm able to stand, I stand damn it:)
*Scaling the entire flight of stairs. I'm walking pretty dang well with some assistance if I do say so myself. I can even take the steps like a big kid, standing tall, with mom and dad's help of course...but not for too much longer.
*Teeth. Nope. Not me. Besides, mom is in love with my gummy smile:)
*Wave hello and goodbye. Sometimes I don't do it until you turn around, so be sure not to miss it:)
*Whistle and Snap. Okay, maybe not quite like mommy and daddy do (though neither of them whistle very well) but I am surely giving it a valiant effort.
*I've increased my vocabulary to contain "dog" and "duck".
*Can stay underwater for 5 seconds! I just love my swimming lessons with Daddy. I'm a natural.
So heading into my 9 month and I can only imagine what I will be up to! Mommy and Daddy say I need to just slow down...oh, and to stay out of Hagen's food. hehehe
Love you all!

Having to much fun!

Mom told me that I had to post at least one picture before we went camping (if you call having a blender and cable camping) this weekend. She informed me that my people have requested pictures...but what I should send I haven't a clue. I was just going on 4 months old since my last post to you all, and now I fear I am an old man. This body of mine has grown by leaps and bounds in a matter of what seems like minutes. I am now the ripe age of 7+ months and taking my baths in the sink! Is this what happens when you grow up? You go from the luxury of your very own bathtub, to a stainless steel box! But I will admit, just don't tell mom and dad...I LOVE IT! So now I'm getting soapy bubbles in my new bath sink and I get to make my own bubbles in this ginormous bathtub one day a week! I think it's called a drool or something, because that's what me and the others do in it...and maybe some do other things, but I'm not going to tattle.
I have so much fun splashing around. I even went under water for one whole second! They say every week they will add a second to my underwater time...I just hope after week 3 or 4 they take away instead of add....could you imagine? They're going to turn me into a fish!
Okay. Now that I am the big 7+ months, there are a few things I need to tell you.
Along with my developing fins, I am also crawling and sitting up like a pro! My little monkey feet are really a big help when it comes to crawling or even grabbing toys that are just out of my reach. I talk and talk and talk all day, and managed to shock everyone way back on Easter Sunday by saying "mama" and a short week later, I followed that up with "dada". No, I don't say it all the time, I don't want them to think I'm totally dependent on them or something, but I do throw it out there every now and then...it's worth it to see the look on their face:)
I've discovered my nose and also found grandma's and just last night I waved at mom and dad. No, they weren't going anywhere, but they were flailing their arms about at me, so I figured I'd do it back. It was the polite thing to do. Oh, and this morning I discovered dad's nipples. Nooooo...not like that you guys! I'm smart enough to know the difference. So I gave them a good tug and twist, which may very well have been my first purple nerple! So many firsts and the past month...what could possibly be next...steak and eggs maybe or a triathlon? I'll keep you posted.
Love,
Lane Michael

Watching Auntie Hazel race her Nova in Fallon (just a little redneck)

Papa said he didn't like my Hawaiin Shirt...said it was too loud

He soon apologized when he looked down at his own shirt

Me and the boys. I was the only sober driver!

Grandma Carole snuck me some of her popsicle while mom and dad finished golfing with papa.

This is what I looked like shortly after my popsicle...and we told mom I only had a taste:)

I had soooo much fun at my swimming lessons!

Doing the back stroke

I've got a new girlfriend! We had so much fun playing together. The younger girls are just too immature for me.

Hope you all enjoyed my pics! Have a fun weekend:)

Where to begin...?

March has been busy, busy, busy. Not only did I celebrate my 4 month birthday, daddy and I got the entire gang together at an enormous bounce house warehouse, to surprise mommy for her big 3...0! She was sooooo excited. I think she forgot that evening who was the kid in the family. But acting like a child at 30 (or older) doesn't go without repercussions. Mommy acquired an almost black eye from Uncle Larry in the jousting arena and what she thought to be a broken toe from some point in the first 40 minutes of bouncing. Grandma Carole tore cartilage in her knee while trying to race someone through the squishy obstacle course! Yeah...I know...CHILDREN! But all are okay and have been healing well. No surgery required. I had such a fun time watching everyone that I forgot to take a nap. I stayed awake through it all and partied like a true rock star! Must admit, I was feeling it the next morning...I had to squeeze in an extra nap or two:)
Happy 30th Mommy!
I haven't seen that nursing bra before?
Go Grandma! GO!

Excuse the jammies folks...mommy thought I was just going to grandmas
and didn't know I should be in party attire.
Believe it or not, that's papa's feet you see.
He's hustling to beat someone through the obstacle course.
Mommy and Uncle Larry...still smiling even after the eye incident
Mommy and Daddy look silly
Auntie Cris giving daddy a beating

Okay, enough about mommy being a year older...how about me being a month older??? I can't believe how big I am getting. Mommy, once again cleaned out my closet and tore off the tags of my 3-6 month outfits...though the 6 months ones fit me the best. At my checkup I weighed in at 13.8 lbs and measured a towering 26.25 inches! Yep...Long string bean. That's me. I grew 2.25 inches in 2 months...that's just craziness. And what's up with those stupid shots??? OUCH! But I handled them like a big boy, mommy and daddy were so impressed with me. I just can't wait to get older so I can go for this ice cream stuff they keep talking about when I get my shots.

Last week I had a bit of an upset tummy, but only in the evening after dinner which mom thought was strange. Whatever it was, I managed to give the bug to mommy, both my papa's, and grandma Carole. They were dropping like flies...but I feel better! Daddy thought he may be getting it, but mommy and me have been doing our best to help him stay healthy.

Okay everyone, that's my in a nutshell update. Hope you like all the pics...and that you don't get my bug just by reading this:)

Love, Lane
