So Many Firsts

I'm almost 4 months old!!! Throughout the past month I have been doing so many impressive things...well at least mommy and daddy think so. They can't get over how fast I'm growing up!
Daddy finally talked mommy into letting me try cereal for the very first time. For what I could taste, I loved it! I'm just so congested these days it's hard to tell how good things are. So mommy and daddy decided to hold off on the cereal again until I'm feeling better. Stupid cold!
But I am still enjoying my new Bumbo chair! I'm such a big boy sitting all on my own. I also got a new Exersaucer from grandma and grandpa. And no it's not for my kankles, nor the adorable dimples on my thighs (mom only wishes hers were as cute as mine), it's pure entertainment...and developmental of course...what isn't that comes into this house?
Well...I've got a full belly and mom says it's time to say goodbye. Enjoy the latest pics!

xoxo, Lane
P.S. Congratulations to Peyton on going to be a big sis!

Now I've got two of you to choose from! hehehe I'm such a playa:)

Mommy got to document my first ride in the 6 seater buggy at school..

It was so embarrassing, her taking all those pictures with my friends around...but I managed to ham it up anyhow:)

A Surprise for Daddy!

For Valentine's Day, mommy took me to get my pictures taking by my buddy Stew at the same picture place I got my first professional shots taken...over 3 months ago!
I had such a fun time posing for the camera. I really hammed it up this time because this time was extra special. We wanted to surprise daddy for Valentine's Day so mommy had grandma Carole sneak daddy's firefighter gear from his work so I could take cool pictures with them. Luckily for me, daddy had a backup jacket so I didn't have to try and do my best work while plugging my nose from the smokey smell or get black yucky stuff all over my clean and oh so baby bottom soft skin:)
It wasn't easy, but I kept the secret from daddy for two whole days. Never once letting on that I had my pictures taken with his extra special fire protecting jacket and helmet!
Every one's top pic! I haven't quite grown into my
fireman's jacket just yet
I was having such a fun time. I even got a case of the giggles!

I'm sorry...my hand just seems to find its' way to my mouth these days

Stew and grandma also managed to talk mommy into posing with me too! We had sooooo much fun, though mommy couldn't help but be relieved when her turn was over. She said she was sweating bullets in daddy's jacket...I didn't think it was so bad.

I'm always getting kisses from mommy:)

Mommy was getting pretty warm about now...

So I thought I was here to take serious, big boy pictures with daddy's stuff...these rose petals are certainly not daddy's!

But what the heck...I still look adorable!
It's Valentine's Day!

Are we about done here?
These last two photos were so much fun...I just wanna know where
I can get a huge rubber ducky so I can drop the hint to mommy and daddy or even grandma
and grandpa!!! yeah...that's what I'll do...
Must be getting hungry, because there's that hand again and my feet too!
Everyone says I got my mommy's monkey feet, the way I curl my toes
and grab onto things:) I once grabbed my grandpa Dave's lips with my toes! He was very impressed with my grip and lucky for me, he thought it was cute:) So that's it...for now at least. Oh, and mommy is telling me to apologize for her lack of updates. We have just been having too much fun together. I keep her and daddy pretty entertained:)
I hope you all had a wonderful Valentine's Day!
Yours Truly,
Lane Michael

First Day of School

Last Wednesday, Lane was fed, dressed and placed ever so snug in his carseat by 7:15am. We were out the door and headed to school. I would of loved to have taken more time off to be with Lane, but getting back to my classroom was also on my mind. Fortunately for me, my school is very understanding and agreed to meet me halfway....and also fortunately for me I get to take my son to work with me:)

I am back to work teaching only the morning half of kindergarten, which I feel to be most crucial being that I cover all the language arts and mathematics during that time. It's great to be back and it's great being able to have the freedom to check in on my son whenever I choose. They just give me a call or walk down the hall when he's hungry.

Lane is in a class of 5 infants and 3 awesome teachers. I couldn't feel more comfortable. One of the babies is 4 months old and seems to be only a pound or two bigger than Lane and he's 2 months! His length is just crazy!!! Last week I had to go through his entire closet and remove the newborn outfits. There is just no way that we can squeeze him into them any longer. It's bad enough having to box up/get rid of my own clothes...now I have to do the same for him, but at least I can't convince myself that he will lose 5 lbs. and still be able to wear certain outfits again:)

Here are some photos of his first day and also of some recent tummy time...which he is growing to like more and more.
All warm and toasty in his carseat

Smiling big for mom. So excited for his first day of school!

Ouch!

Our little Lane had his 2nd checkup today and that means shots!!! The poor guy screamed the moment he felt the needle break skin. I immediately teared up...but also managed to take a few pics to commemorate the moment. Before the doctor gave him his shots, she informed us that he could react one of two ways:
1. He will scream and cry for a good couple of hours
2. He will sleep the next few hours

Shane and I were of course leaning towards the later. Well...the heavens must have parted at that very moment, because we had a sleepy baby for the three hours that followed. I just wish we could have taken him to Baskin Robbins or something for ice cream afterwards. He did such a great job!

His stats, at almost 8 weeks are 11.8lbs and 24 inches long (the size of an average 4 month old). He is in the 90% for height and 50% for his weight. He also had to show off for Dr. Tammy (as usual). She placed him on his tummy and he propped himself right up with his arms and held his head up getting a good look at us all. Such a show off...and again more pictures:)

Lane had a busy Christmas between seeing family in Fallon and a fun xmas day here in Reno with Shane's folks. For his grand and great grandparents, he had fun getting messy making "Billau" (hehehe) footprints that we decorated together...no seriously we did. Lane was strapped in the baby bjorn helping with the hot glue:)

He does exist!!!

Yesterday we ventured out to see Santa at his Workshop setup so conveniently at the mall:) We weren't about to brave it over the weekend, nor do I think we would have had the patience needed to accomplish such a task with a 6 week old in tow. I can't even remember the last time I saw the "Big Guy" himself...Oh wait...I was in college and I believe it was my soph/junior year and Kelly's dad dressed up for us. Does that ever bring back the memories! Regardless of when or whom, I certainly don't remember him being underweight and sporting only two teeth! But I must admit, the old man at the mall pulled it off and was a very cute Santa!

Waiting in line for our first of many pictures with Santa!
